Frequently Asked Questions

Products & Materials

What kind of wood do you use?

Every Arcwood Living product is made from natural white birch. The wood is kiln dried and professionally cleaned before it reaches our workshop. Because birch is a natural material, each piece carries its own bark pattern, knots, and color variation.

Will my product look exactly like the photos on your website?

No two pieces of birch are identical. Grain, bark markings, diameter, and color will vary from what you see in our photography. These natural variations are part of the material and are not considered defects.

Where are your products made?

Our products are handcrafted at our workshop in Fellsmere, Florida.

Are your products suitable for outdoor use?

Unless a product page states otherwise, our products are intended for indoor decorative use. The Birch Wedding Arch Kit is designed for outdoor ceremonies but is not built for permanent outdoor installation or long-term exposure to weather.

Birch Poles & Installation

How does the floor-to-ceiling system work?

Each pole installs under tension between your floor and ceiling — no drilling, no anchors, no damage. Two adjustable leveling feet with pre-installed rubber pads let you fine-tune the fit and lock the pole securely in place.

Why does the pole arrive in two sections?

Powered by the ArcLock™ Hidden Connector System. Each birch pole is precision-engineered in two sections for efficient nationwide shipping. The concealed internal connector creates a secure, stable, and virtually invisible connection once assembled.

How do I measure my ceiling height?

Measure your floor-to-ceiling height in several places — floors and ceilings are rarely perfectly level. We recommend choosing a height 0.5–1 inch shorter than your actual measurement so the tension system has room to work. The leveling feet provide roughly 1.5 inches of total adjustment.

Can I order a custom height?

Yes. Both the Coat Rack Pole and the Design Pole are available as a custom cut. You specify your floor-to-ceiling height at checkout and we cut the pole to fit. Please note that custom-cut products are made to order and cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive damaged or defective.

How long does assembly take?

Most poles install in under ten minutes with no special tools. The Birch Wedding Arch Kit takes about 15 minutes.

Lighting

Do I need an electrician to install the pendant lights?

We recommend professional installation. Our pendant lights connect to a ceiling junction box using CL2-rated in-wall cable and are suspended from adjustable steel cables. If you are not comfortable working with your home's electrical system, please hire a licensed electrician.

Are the lights dimmable?

Yes. The Signature Birch Pendant Light uses a dimmable warm white LED strip at 3000K. The Heritage Birch Edison Pendant Light uses dimmable E26 amber Edison bulbs at 2200K, rated up to 60W per socket.

What sizes are available?

Both pendant lights come in a 36-inch and a 72-inch version. The Heritage Edison model carries three bulbs at 36 inches and six at 72 inches.

Decorative Birch Logs

Are the decorative birch logs suitable for burning?

No. Our decorative birch logs are intended for indoor decorative use only — in log holders, baskets, hearths, and display arrangements. They are not firewood. Do not burn them, place them in an active fireplace, or use them near any open flame or heat source.

Ordering & Shipping

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes. Shipping is free on all orders delivered within the contiguous United States, including palletized freight deliveries. Orders to Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories are quoted individually. Optional carrier services such as liftgate, inside delivery, limited-access delivery, or appointment delivery are not included and are billed separately where required.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship within the United States only.

How are larger items delivered?

Oversized products, pallets, and bulk orders ship by LTL freight. Freight delivery is curbside unless otherwise agreed in writing and does not include inside delivery, unpacking, assembly, or debris removal. You are responsible for having someone available to receive and unload the shipment.

What should I do when my delivery arrives?

Inspect the shipment before you sign. If you see damaged packaging, crushed boxes, torn shrink wrap, or any sign of mishandling, note it in writing on the carrier's delivery receipt before accepting the shipment. Keep all packaging until any issue is resolved.

Returns & Damage

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 30 calendar days of delivery. Items must be unused, undamaged, and in original condition with all parts included. Return authorization is required before sending anything back, and return shipping is the customer's responsibility. A 10% restocking fee may apply to returns that are not the result of shipping damage, an incorrect shipment, or a verified defect. Custom-cut, made-to-order, and personalized products are not returnable. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

My order arrived damaged. What should I do?

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery at contact@arcwoodliving.com with your order number and photographs of the product, the packaging, and the shipping label. Keep all packaging materials until the claim is resolved.
